Pumpkin Patch Project, Bird Beak Experiment, and a Beautiful Fall Recess!

We began our pumpkin patch project by drawing and coloring three pumpkins in the patch.
Next, we added flair with extra details like characters from our pumpkin patch writing.
Then, we added sky details.
Finally, we added watercolor paint to our project!

We worked in teams to determine which bird beak (duck or warbler) would pick up the most food on the ground. Then, we added rocks to determine which beak would pick up more food and less rocks.
Ask your child what they discovered!

We worked with our 5th Grade buddies to write "thank you" notes to our amazing PTO here at Kipling. The PTO does so much to help the students and staff here at Kipling.
Thanks for all you do!

We are learning about Habit 8: Find Your Voice!
We did a reflection activity on Seesaw to help us determine our strengths.
We learned that when we share our talents with others we can inspire them and help them.

We have been utilizing Kidz A-Z to work on our fluency and reading comprehension.
We learned that good readers make sure they understand the story, go back in the text to find the answer, and then tell someone about what they read.

We are working hard on our Pumpkin Patch writing.
They are hanging on our lockers!

The students of Room 8 signed up to each lunch with Mrs. C
for Halloween.

We learned that we can change the order of addends in addition problems and still get the same sum.
Today we added 3 cards together!

We enjoyed some fun outside doing what we love!

Flashlight Friday!

Today we started a Reader's Theatre.
We will practice with our teams next week to work on fluency.
We will perform in the class later next week.
I will post on Seesaw!

Our guest reader came in to read a silly story about a hungry book and some poetry!

Have a great time at PumpkinFest!
My daughter has a volleyball game tomorrow right in the middle of PumpkinFest
so I am unable to attend. I look forward to hearing about it on Monday!
