Oops! Lots of Pictures!

It happened... the moment when you realize that you forgot to upload the pictures
from the week before. Oops!

Our leader is sharing his poster with the class.

We are playing some addition math games.

We are using Freckle ELA Articles.
Students can choose an article to read (fiction or non-fiction) and work on answering comprehension questions at a "just right fit."
We like getting to choose what we read!

Our leader is reading his book to the class.

We established our "Accountability Partners" for Leader in Me.
This is someone we will touch base with on our goals throughout the school year!

We filled our Put Up Jar again!
When we fill it up, we get to color in a letter on our Kindness window.

We read a very important message about The Sheep, The Shepherd, and The Wolf.
It is important in this situation to stop, look, and listen to the grown up in charge.
Be sure to check out your child's recording on Seesaw.

How do you give a helping hand?
We traced our hand and got busy thinking of way
Students wrote down five ways that they help others.
Mrs. Anderson will be using the hands for a display around Kipling!

Mrs. Avdoian came by for another lesson on Zones of Regulation.
We learned some new strategies to get our bodies back in the "green zone!"

Ask your child to show you how to do the Lazy 8 Breathing to calm our bodies down.

We are becoming experts at doing something when we finish reading a book.
This week we worked on summarizing our story.
In our skill this week, we challenged ourselves to write one sentence about what the
story or text was about.

Why do leaves change color in the fall?
We learned that leaves have chlorophyll.
The tree takes and uses the chlorophyll for energy to create the new buds in the spring.

We learned how to use the app Prodigy for additional math practice.
Students can use this app at home for extra practice.
We will also use it on occasion at school for Choose Your Own Math Adventure opportunities.

We met with a partner to share our favorite "Small Moment" writing so far this school year.
We are working on giving feedback on something our partner did well and something that he/she can do to make the writing even better.

We had a Guest Reader join us today.
We love having visitors read to us!

Flashlight Friday was FANTASTIC!
Thunder decided to join us and added an extra layer of excitement!

What a wonderful surprise to return to after lunch/recess!!!!
