Retelling in Book Clubs, Coding, and Kindness Week!

We started off Kindness Week with a whole school assembly.
The Student Lighthouse Team led the assembly.

We sang and danced at the end of the assembly.

We started our Weekly Reading Log.
The goal is for your first grader to read for 105 minutes a week (15 minutes a day).
Reading logs are due Monday!

Dress Up Like a Teacher Day!

We have been working in our book clubs, buddy reading, and in our own independent reading books to recall key details of the fiction text.

Our leader of the week is sharing his pictures!

Fireman Tyler came to talk to first grade about fire safety.
Thank you to the 11 students that already turned in the homework sheet from Fireman Tyler.

I am also asking for homework that your child is secure in knowing his/her address and a phone number.
Please have your child post a video of him/her reciting your address and number by tomorrow!

Our leader of the week is sharing a book with the class!

Mrs. Chroman came in for a check in to hear how we are using the problem solving wheel.
We had SO many friends sharing how they have used it at school and at home!

Mrs. Johnson's class came to our room to work on a super coding activity!
Great teamwork and problem solving happening in room 8!

Happy February!
